Jack lost his brave fight in July 2016, here is his story....
'My name is Jack, I'm 19 years old. I became ill last year whilst taking my A Levels. After initial problems with diagnosis, I was confirmed as having a type of soft tissue sarcoma (rhabdomyosarcoma). Initial treatments were gruelling but positive. However, soon after treatments ended, the sarcomas came back, hard. The doctors now tell me that they can't cure me.
Sarcomas are relatively rare but are often the main cancers to affect teenagers like me. Many of my friends who are fellow patients also have this same illness. I am determined to help research into sarcomas and am already taking part in one research project, but we need more funding. Research will help us better understand the causes and identify improved treatments, saving young lives in the future.
I'm a private person and it's been a big decision for me to share this publicly, but it's the right thing to do. So please, please help.
Please make a donation, share my appeal with as many people as you can, especially any businesses who can help
With your generosity, I might be able to make a difference. Help me to help others.
Thank you

TeamJack cycle challenge 2018 was London to Paris. Click on the image to find out more

Total So far (26/09/19):
£122,531.31
(inc gift aid and Just Giving)
17/09/18: Team Jack completed the ride to Paris. So far this ride has raised nearly £16,000 plus gift aid. Supporting the valuable work of the ICR Molecular Pathology Team
29/12/17: He did it, smashed through the £100,000 target. Who would have thought it possible? Not bad for a young man who hoped to raise £300 - £400.
Jack's Mum, Dad, friends and supporters will continue with Jack's fundraising, so we can stop this terrible disease.
About Sarcomas
-
Every day 9 people in the UK are diagnosed with Soft Tissue Sarcoma*
-
Sarcomas are one of the main cancers to affect children, teenagers and young adults*
-
Only 45% of soft tissue sarcoma patients survive*
-
The treatment for these sarcomas has changed little in 50 years
-
Because this type of cancer is relatively rare, it does not receive as much research funding as other types of cancer
-
Jack wanted to raise funds to help research, he never imagined he would raise as much as he has
-
Every donation to ‘Help Jack’ will directly fund research into Sarcomas
